Transforming Therapy and the Therapists who lead it

Meet Alefyah
Hi! I’m Alefyah Taqui, a Relationship Therapist dedicated to helping people nurture meaningful connections—with others and with themselves. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, as the daughter of Pakistani immigrants, I’ve always been curious about the ways our individual and collective stories shape how we heal and grow together.
In today’s world, it’s hard not to feel the weight of everything happening around us. This heaviness has led me to reflect deeply on how traditional approaches to therapy often fall short. Healing can’t happen in isolation—it’s influenced by the broader forces that shape our lives. I’ve come to see that true transformation requires us to step beyond the limits of conventional methods and embrace a more holistic, connected way of thinking about mental health and relationships.
That reflection is what inspired The Deconstructing Therapy Podcast. It’s a space where I get to sit down with incredible therapists, activists, and thought leaders who are paving the way for something different—something rooted in connection, community, and the power of shared stories. Together, we explore new approaches to healing that honor the complexity of the world we live in and the resilience of those navigating it.
I’d love for you to join me on this journey. Through these conversations, we’ll dive into stories that inspire, ideas that challenge, and ways to connect that feel truly transformative. Let’s reimagine what healing can look like—together.
